Common Configurations for Data Logging with Multiple Sensor Types

National Instruments offers a wide range of measurement system options to monitor, log, and analyze systems with multiple sensor types. Using the suggested configurations below, you can make measurements from a wide range of signals and sensor types. You can modify these configurations to accept additional sensor types to meet your specific application needs.

Each data-logger configuration contains a description and a parts list. The parts list includes the measurement hardware - signal connectivity, signal conditioning (if required), digitizer, and other necessary items. The list also includes a recommended software package for that application and common options for each configuration.

Multiple-Sensor-Type Data Loggers

Portable 12-Channel Multiple-Sensor-Type Data Logger
This 12-channel, mixed-signal measurement system configuration provides 2 thermocouple inputs, 2 RTD inputs, 2 current inputs, 2 strain gage inputs, 2 accelerometer inputs, and 2 voltage inputs.

Isolated, Desktop 28-Channel Multiple-Sensor-Type Data Logger
This system provides 250 Vrms, Category II isolation on each of its input channels. It is designed to measure thermocouple channels, strain gage channels, and current and voltage channels.

High-Accuracy 32-Channel Multiple-Sensor-Type Data Logger
This system measures 8 thermocouple channels, 8 strain gage channels, 8 accelerometer channels, and 8 voltage channels.
